Arguements with online people...

Worth it or not??

I am currently engaged in an arguement on a board I frequent, about the rights of mothers to bring nursing sling babies into an adult toy party. Now, as a 5 year vet of Passion Parties, retired when my daugther was born, I can honestly say my personally held belief is NO, you do not have the right to bring a child, of any age, to an adult toy party. Those of you who know me, know I am a pro-breastfeeding psycho mom, who would stage a nurse in at the drop of a hat, should anyone suggest a mom can't nurse her baby anywhere in a 50 mile radius of here! I would stare down strangers with eyes of daggers should they give any kind of indication that they looked down on me for nursing my baby any where and time my baby needed me. Basically, I am as pro-breastfeeding as you can get. But I still feel that there are things even in the realm of breastfeeding that are off limits. You cannot use breastfeeding as an excuse to take your child somewhere that normally they would be barred from, such as adult establishments. You can't take a child into an adult book store, or a strip club, just because they are still nursing and in a sling. You can't take them into a casino, or a bar, so why do people feel they should be able to risk an adult toy party representives business by bringing a nursing infant to a party, after being told that it's not okay?? Passion Parties, in particular, has a strict rule, no children, period at a party. In my past, I have at least twice that I can remember, packed up my toys and left a party because children were present, and the parents refused to leave or to send them with someone else. I would not jepordize my business and my personal beliefs for a few bucks. And then in this same arguement, women are praising other consultants who have broken these rules, and allowed children at their presentations!! Please! So as long as it suits your needs for them to break the rules it's okay, but if they will break that rule, what others ones might they break?

Anyways, long story short, I am not sure why I feel the need to expend energy on this arguement, when I know I won't change their minds, and I know that it isn't winning me any friends, LOL! But I can't just lay down and let them cry discrimination, and bad mouth PP girls who are just following the rules.

I have to agree with you! Not only is it against the rules, but why would you want to bring a child to an adult party? I have only been to 1, but it got pretty wild. Not an enviornment I would want any child in. Good for you for sticking up for what you believe in!
