I have absolutely no problem with anyone posting about their entry and asking folks to vote for your idea. After all, it isn't as though you have some sort of hypnotic power over your readers where you can force them to enter!
And from a blogger's point of view, I think it is a wonderful opportunity for some of your readers who may not have normally visited my blog to pop on over and check me out. Maybe they will like it and stay a while.
There are several other bloggers who have done the same-you can see the links at the bottom of the post. And then there are folks on twitter asking people to vote for them. People who do not have the platform of a blog or a twitter account are welcome to email all their friends and family and ask them to vote as well.

You should know that I wasn't *trying* to be rude. I just thought it was odd how every comment had to be positive or it was removed. Then it just got irksome.

Well, see the things is YOU were the only one was was negative. Previous to you, I have only ever deleted SPAM from my blog. In 4 years + of running my blog, you are the only person to ever have such negative things to say.
And you are rude.
